Type Locality and Naming
Through the mountains of Balpantau, Tamdytau, Central Kyzylkum. A.K. Bukharin et al. in 1984 (122, p.76).
Synonym:
Lithology and Thickness
Dolomites, flaggy, sometimes conglomeratic, thick-bedded limestones, interbedded with crinoidal and sandy limestones, with a basal sandy-gravelly portion. Thickness 800m.

Lower contact
Stratigraphic contacts are not established. According to A.A., unconformably, with erosion, it lies on the Akkuduk Fm

Overlying deposits are absent.

Fossils
In limestones, brachiopods of Pragian age - Leptagonia rhomboidalis Wilek., Nikiforovaena linxoides Nal., Karpinskia conjugula Tschern., conodonts, Tentaculites, crinoids (Bukharin et al., 1984).
Age
Earlier, Yu.A. Likhachev et al. (266) attributed these deposits to the Elemesachin Fm of the Lower Devonian. Later, A.K. Bukharin et al. (1990) named this suite Zapadnobalpantauskaya (460). It belongs to the Pragian stage of the Lower Devonian.
